1950 Series 120 Tax Stamp, Mid-Century Pfister Hotel Milwaukee Memorabilia, Cuban Tobacco Wood Cigar Box.• The Date (1950): The green U.S. Internal Revenue tax stamp explicitly features the portrait of Henry Clay and is marked \"Series 120\". According to U.S. federal revenue records, Series 120 tax stamps were issued in 1950. This places your box perfectly at the start of the mid-century modern era of the hotel.
• The Tobacco (All Havana Panetelas): The inner lid is hot-stamped with \"Panetelas / Special Selection / All Havana.\" In 1950, before the Cuban embargo, luxury hotels frequently imported high-end Cuban tobacco leaves to be rolled into slender \"Panetela\" style cigars specifically for their high-profile guests.
There are 11 tiny holes in the top otherwise this box is in excellent shape. I’m pretty sure someone also glued the left top wood piece into place.
This box is truly beautiful.
