Lots of rumors about what the hallmarked “S” means, but harder to find than non-hallmarked versions.

One of the most common rumors is that the EGAs like this with an S on the back were made in China. A China Marine shield was recently sold with an “S”’hallmarked EGA on it thereby fueling this rumor.
