This is a 130 year old hand blown P.R.R.DISINFECTANT bottle used in the 1890s on a Pennsylvania Railroad passenger car to disinfect the water closet (toilet).....The bottle is boldly emb P.R.R.DISINFECTANT with 2 dots above, and 3 dots below the embossing.....Hand blown in mold...hand tooled square ring condition with no chips or damage. A dug bottle with some light haze. Back in the 1800s the water closet or toilet for the passenger cars would have to be cleaned out after each trip. In the early days a trap door under the toilet would be opened and the "honey" would just be dumped on the tracks while the train was moving. The disinfectant in this bottle would have been used to clean the toilet area, as well as the seating area of the passenger cars...
