Arthur William Savage and the Radial TireArthur William Savage (1857–1938), a Jamaican-born British-American inventor and founder of Savage Arms, founded the Savage Tire Company in California in the early 1900s. He patented the radial tire design in 1915 (granted in 1916), approximately 30 years before Michelin popularized the technology.
