Up for collectors is a heavy-duty, custom-minted challenge coin featuring an aggressive, highly detailed arrowhead and spearhead profile representing Team XVII (Seventeen) Expeditionary. Crafted with dual-tone antique silver and gold finishes, deep 3D relief work, and serrated edge detailing, this is a striking departure from standard round coins. One side showcases the classic US Navy Trident motif with Expeditionary Warfare (EXW) Pin, while the reverse features a prominent crossed trident and cutlass over a grid background. This is Literally the Tip of the Spear!
Provenance & Backstory:
This coin was acquired directly from a member of the team while socializing at the legendary I-Bar on Naval Station North Island. Unit-issued pieces procured straight from operators at the birthplace of West Coast naval aviation and special warfare commands rarely enter the open collector market, making this an elite acquisition for a serious display.
Condition: Excellent collector condition (kept in protective storage).
Dimensions: Oversized, substantial weight, premium custom strike quality.
Whether you curate high-end naval special warfare pieces or distinct military unit history, this piece serves as an incredible anchor for any collection.
