The craft of overshot weaving came to America with Scottish immigrants, who migrated to milder climes in the south, like the tiny town of Seven Springs, North Carolina. A squared pattern pays tribute to the intricate patterns of traditional coverlets, hand-loomed on a white warp in the four-harness overshot method.
