NOS Vintage Sears 5 Year Service Pin Tie Tack 1/10 10K GF Sears Tower in Box
This is the pin Sears, Roebuck and Co. gave its employees at five years with the company, worn on a lapel or a tie.
The face carries the script Sears logo, the tower rising over a low building, and a raised 5 below. The back is stamped 1/10 10K beside a small hexagon mark.
The building is the Sears Tower in Chicago, which opened as the company\'s headquarters in 1973, so the pin dates from then or later. 1/10 10K is the gold-filled mark: a 10K gold layer over a base metal, not solid gold. The raised details and rim are polished against a textured field.
These are new old stock and have never been worn. Each comes in its original box, a black plastic case with a clear hinged lid, with its clutch back on the pin. The inserts vary from box to box: some pins are mounted on a white folded paperboard insert, some on a dark foam insert, and a few sit loose in the box with no insert. The photos show one of them, and the insert in the box you receive may be different.
