MCM Rare Empoli Italy Amethyst Purple ROCKET Genie Bottle Glass Decanter 26” Tall with Stopper
This design pattern is now rare hard to find with both the decanter and stopper intact, and especially in this color. This was created in the 1960s to early 1970s during the Space Race when there are Saturn V rockets being launched into space. Form form actually captures a rocket in early launch face with the stopper undulating blast waves of burning rocket fuel. Even the color transition in the stopper, which is intentional, from dark at the top to near clear at the base of was intended to evoke how the white hot rocket fuel flame burning and trailing burning from engines. The decanter body is tapered to again evoke the appearance of the rocket stages that blow off in mid flight and leave a long wide shock wave of burning fuel that trails into rolling billowing clouds of smoke, and that is what bottom half of the decanter is meant to depict. I included a photo of this genie bottle with a Saturn V rocket in the background that has just launched so you can see the similarities in appearance.
Dimensions: Decanter is 19.75\" Tall x 5\" Wide at the Base Stopper is 7\" Tall Long
Condition:There are no cracks, chips, scratches, cloudiness, water staining in either the decanter or stopper. This is molded glass. There are air bubbles and straw marks that are particularly visible in the tapered upper half of the decanter and these features are typical of large molded glass. None of these marks/features compromise the integrity of the decanter or stopper.
Photos were shot in both natural daylight and indoor studio lighting. The photo of the genie bottle with the Saturn V rocket in the background was a Photoshop creation that I included again just to give you a sense of the symmetry and similarities how the design of the bottle mimics the look of a rocket that has just been launched.
Shipping:This will be extremely well packaged for secure shipping with tracking and additional insurance. I will assume the cost of shipping over the $20 flat rate I am charging.
