Crafted in China during the mid-20th century export boom, this set is a spectacular example of authentic period craftsmanship. This rare set features a vibrant coral/salmon pink organdy fabric base beautifully accented by crisp white hand-applique and meticulous floral hand embroidery depicting a stunning tropical floral pattern. The set includes 8 Hand-Embroidered Placemats, 8 Matching Hand-Embroidered Napkins and Matching Runner.Condition Note for Collectors. One placemat features the rare original paper sticker. The set has been left unlaundered to preserve original paper sticker and collector value. There are areas of localized storage discoloration/yellowing on some of the placemats and the runner (as pictured). Many collectors find that these traditional storage stains easily lift with a gentle soak in specialty textile cleaner (like Restoration or Orvus), but we leave that choice entirely up to the buyer to protect the item's original state. The Napkins are entirely unused, crisp, and in excellent vintage condition and 4 of them feature the original paper sticker. The placemats measure approx. 17" x 11", the napkins are square approx. 17" and The Runner approx. 17" x 52". The entire set is sold together and as-is.
