Vintage LAZARO N.Y. Pewter & Natural Nautilus Shell Candlestick Holders – Matching Pair
An unusual and highly decorative matching pair of sculptural marine-themed candlestick holders signed LAZARO N.Y.
Each candlestick incorporates a beautiful natural nautilus shell surrounded by elaborate three-dimensional pewter sea-life decoration. The design features dramatic octopus tentacles, shell-form feet, additional sculpted seashell details and a raised candle cup.
These are substantial pieces with wonderful weight, texture and detail. The natural nautilus shells display beautiful mother-of-pearl iridescence and make each piece unique.
Measurements: Approximately 7 inches tall × 5 inches wide each.
Weight: Approximately 2 lb 5 oz EACH (about 4 lb 10 oz combined).
Maker: Signed/marked LAZARO N.Y. on the underside.
Condition: Vintage condition with age-related patina, oxidation and surface wear. Please note that one nautilus shell has an area of loss/chipping along the side edge, shown clearly in the photographs. The damaged area is considerably less noticeable when the candlesticks are viewed from the front. No repair has been attempted. Natural shells may also display normal variations and imperfections.
Please examine all photographs carefully, as they are considered part of the condition description.
Sold together as the matching pair.
A striking pair for a coastal, nautical, Hollywood Regency or eclectic interior, and an unusual example of Lazaro N.Y. decorative metalwork.
