🌈 Natural Indonesian Iris Agate 🌈There are some stones that don’t reveal their magic until you hold them up to the light, and Iris Agate is one of them. This beautiful natural Iris Agate slice comes from Indonesia and displays an incredible rainbow effect when illuminated from behind. Its extremely fine layers of chalcedony interact with transmitted light, creating natural spectral colors through diffraction. The result is an almost hidden rainbow tucked inside the stone. This particular specimen has a gorgeous translucent interior filled with delicate, branching natural patterns, surrounded by warm golden and amber tones. When backlit, vivid bands of red, orange, yellow, green, blue and violet appear around the outer portions of the slice. The effect changes depending on the angle and strength of the light, so this is a specimen that genuinely transforms as you move it.✨ Details• Natural Iris Agate• Origin: Indonesia• Thin polished agate slice• Natural rainbow diffraction effect• Translucent chalcedony with extremely fine banding• Golden and amber natural coloration• One of a kind collector specimen• Exact specimen picturedPlease note: The rainbow colors are best observed with a strong light source behind the agate. Iris Agate does not display the same intense rainbow coloration under ordinary reflected room lighting. This is part of what makes the material so fascinating. The colors shown in our photographs were created simply by allowing sunlight to pass through the specimen. 🌞🌈No filter is needed to make this little geological prism do its thing.Iris Agate is intentionally cut into thin slices because transmitted light needs to pass through its extremely fine internal banding to reveal the spectral effect. Perfect for a mineral collection, curiosity cabinet, sunlit window display, geology lover, agate collector, or anyone who appreciates stones with unusual optical properties.
