This is the real deal, not a reproduction, guaranteed, holy grail "MERMAID-ELECTRICITY BUILDING" ashtray from the 1904 St. Louis Worlds Fair. This is the rarest of the rare when it comes to these collectibles, none have been listed or sold in the last three years, no sales and no Google images of this exact same one. It has the "W.B." signature on the back which I believe is for Weilich Brothers. It looks to be made of "pot metal" with a dark green paint. The mermaid is awesome and period correct, as is the patina. It has typical signs of age and use; light wear, stains, scratches, etc. but is an incredible survivor of 122 years! Larger than most souvenir ashtray from this era, it is about 5 1/8" x 4 1/8" x 3/4". Most homes were not electrified in 1904 which was the reason for the Electricity Building exhibit that year. Great history, interesting piece, awesome addition to any collection, a definite conversation starter and a cool gift for any collector! Selling as is, as pictured.
