Rare Glenn Appleman Studio Pottery Taxi Cab Cookie Jar, featuring a bold yellow glaze, sculptural 1940s-style cab form, and classic hand-painted details including the roof “TAXI” sign and rear lettering “trunks .50¢ extra.”
This is a studio-made piece, not mass-produced, and is often misattributed to McCoy. Glenn Appleman’s figural vehicle cookie jars were produced in limited quantities and are far scarcer than factory examples, making them highly desirable among collectors of Americana, studio pottery, and figural cookie jars.
