This is a D3-coded Gillette Executive, manufactured July–September 1958. The Executive is Gillette's factory gold-plated version of the Fatboy adjustable, distinguished by its gold finish and distinctive horizontal handle knurling. This example is exceptionally well preserved, with bright, uniform gold plating, fully intact black dial paint, and firm, even adjustment throughout the range. Collectors' Notes
The Gillette Executive was produced from 1958 through 1961, beginning with the D3 code in 1958 — the earliest widely documented Executive production. While extremely scarce D1 examples are known among collectors, the D3 is the first confirmed large-scale production run. The Executive combines the Fatboy adjustable design with Gillette's gold-plated finish and distinctive handle knurling. Early D‑series examples are especially desirable for their consistent plating quality and tight mechanical tolerances.
This razor is fully functional, mechanically sound, and exceptionally well preserved cosmetically. The bright gold finish, intact dial paint, crisp knurling, and clean underside make this a particularly clean and attractive example.
