The Prime Mover pairs off our heroes and teleports them to to fight selected champions to the death!
Valkyrie & Nighthawk:
- Sent to a dismal world shrouded in purple mist. Nighthawk faces Chiroptera (a man-bat hybrid).
- He defeats it by exploiting its echolocation to trick it into a stone obelisk.
- Valkyrie battles Takkor, a four-armed skeletal warrior.
- Realizing Takkor’s dark horse is the dominant intelligence, she skewers it to win the battle.
Hulk & Doctor Strange:
- Hulk & Doctor Strangeare dispatched to an alien swamp to fight Grott the Man-Slayer and Michael Korvac.
- Michael Korvac is a computer technician from the 31st century, transformed into a cyborg by the alien Badoon.
Daredevil & Sub-Mariner:
- Their brutal combat round results in both heroes actually being killed by their opponents, the aliens Dumog and Teju.
- Despite the horrific casualties, the Grandmaster technically wins the overall match.
- Upon his victory, the Prime Mover short-circuits and breaks down from losing.
- True to his word , the Grandmaster uses his vast powers to resurrect Daredevil and Sub-Mariner.
- The Earth is still in jeopardy, as the Grandmaster now prepares to claim the planet as his prize.
- Daredevil challenges the cosmic entity to a simple, double-or-nothing coin toss.
- The Grandmaster accepts and Daredevil wins the toss by using his heightened radar senses.
- Frustrated at losing everything, the Grandmaster honors the bet and teleports all six heroes safely back to Earth.
