Offered is the hardcover book Texas Cowboy Cooking by Tom Perini with a Bush Center Warrior Open Golf Tournament SIGNED BOOKPLATE from George & Laura Bush affixed to the first title page. At the bottom of the bookplate is the date of October 9, 2011. Research indicates this date kicked off the Inaugural Bush Center Warrior Golf Tournament weekend honoring wounded warriors. Additional research indicates the author of this book Tom Perini was the personal caterer of George W Bush when he was Governor of Texas and then the President. In fact Perini was preparing to cater the White House Congressional Picnic on September 11, 2001 which of course was cancelled because of the attacks. Perini catered this event the following year. This signed book was purchased at a Maryland estate sale at the residence of the 37th President of the PGA during the years 2010-2012. Further research indicates this individual was on President Bush’s guest list for this Bush Center Warrior Inaugural Golf Tournament. Research could find no indication that this book was ever for sale with the Bush Signed Bookplate, indicating it was more than likely presented to the PGA President at this golf event, making it a unique and rare Presidential signed item. Book is a first edition fourth printing in like new condition. Wonderful gift idea for a collector interested in this type of Presidential memorabilia! Spine is tight and square. All pages are clean, no creases or tears. No writing or markings in book. Boards have no blemishes and no corner bumps. Dust jacket is nice, no creases or tears.
