Foley England Bone China Tulip Floral Tea Cup & Saucer Set of 4 | Gold Trim | Footed | Vintage | Made in England
A charming and genuinely collectible set of English bone china from one of the most beloved and actively sought vintage tea ware brands — this complete set of four Foley bone china tulip floral footed tea cups and saucers with gold trim is the kind of find that English china collectors and dedicated tea service enthusiasts search for with real enthusiasm. Foley china — produced in Staffordshire, England — has a devoted collector following built on the brand's consistently beautiful floral patterns, the quality of their bone china, and the quintessentially English elegance that makes their pieces so immediately recognizable and so pleasurable to use and display.
What makes this set particularly special is the individual personality of each cup — one in green, one in blue, one in yellow, and one in pink, each decorated with a tulip floral motif in its own colorway and finished with gold trim. This matched-but-individual approach is a charming hallmark of the finest English bone china services — each cup a complete and beautiful object in its own right, yet perfectly harmonious as a set. The gold trim adds the warm, lustrous finishing detail that distinguishes a genuinely fine bone china service from everyday tableware.
The footed cup form is the most elegant and traditional of all tea cup silhouettes — the delicate foot ring that lifts the cup slightly from the saucer, giving each piece a refined, sculptural quality that is as beautiful to look at as it is to hold. Bone china — the distinctively English ceramic body developed in the 18th century — is prized for its extraordinary translucency, its brilliant white ground, and the depth and luminosity it lends to painted decoration.
All four cups and all four saucers are present and in excellent vintage condition — no chips, cracks, or crazing. A complete matched set of Foley bone china in this condition is increasingly rare. Hand wash only. Made in England.
