Vintage Edgar Littlefield Studio Pottery Trinket Dish - The Littlefield Kilns
Up for sale is a beautiful, authentic piece of American mid-century modern studio pottery from The Littlefield Kilns, operated by the renowned ceramicist and Ohio State University professor, Edgar Littlefield (1905–1972).
This 4.25-inch shallow dish features a hand-painted abstract geometric motif—resembling a stylized sun, cross, or folk-art tic-tac-toe design—rendered in vibrant shades of mustard yellow, olive green, ochre, and deep blue glazes. The interior rim is finished in Littlefield's classic, smooth lavender-grey semi-matte glaze over a beautiful unglazed red terracotta clay base.
The bottom features the distinct, hand-incised script signature reading "The Littlefield Kilns".
• Condition: Pre-owned vintage condition. No major chips or structural cracks.
• Measurements: Approximately 4.25 inches in diameter.
Perfect addition for collectors of mid-century Ohio studio ceramics, historical OSU art department pottery, or rustic modernist folk art.
