Up for sale is an early vintage Stanley No. 54 flat handled adjustable mouth spokeshave. No markings, but the body and wingnut shape indicate that it is an early Stanley version. 2 1/8" width cutter. 10" long overall. See last photo for an excerpt from Stanley's catalog describing the No. 54.
Condition: Great. A solid user. The original japanning is estimated to be around 70% intact. Clean and free of rust, damage, etc. The cutter is still sharp with an even bevel. A quality USA made tool. Realy to get back to work for many years to come.
