Illustrative and poignant miniature Ticuna dancer doll representing a bird, which the maker called an ‘azulejo,’ a small singing and beautiful bird found in the Amazon Basin. This is a miniaturization of the figures who dance during the pelazon ritual, the traditional girls coming of age ceremony. It wears a removable, mask, as shown. The body of the dancer is balso and yanchama. The red color is achiote and the black is acrylic. A miniature by Lazaro Bautista Manduco, Ticuna

Please note this is for the bird dancer sculpture only. Other items in the photos may be available in my other listings, by request, or on the website. See the insta account for much more details!
