Dead Pooh #1.2 Blonde Nude AP Edition CGC 9.9 Signature Series | Eric Basaldua & Nei Ruffino | Artist Proof (AP2)
An exceptional opportunity to acquire one of the most elusive modern independent variants from the golden era of limited convention exclusives.
Offered here is Dead Pooh #1.2 – Blonde Nude Artist Proof (AP2), professionally graded CGC 9.9 (Mint) under the prestigious CGC Signature Series, featuring authenticated signatures from acclaimed cover artist Eric "Ebas" Basaldua and colorist Nei Ruffino.
Unlike the standard numbered editions, this is an Artist Proof (AP2) copy—produced in extremely limited quantities for the creators and publisher. Artist Proof editions are among the most desirable versions of modern variants and rarely appear on the secondary market in certified Mint condition.

CGC Census Rarity
According to the CGC Census at the time of listing, this book is one of only six CGC Signature Series 9.9 copies recorded.
For registry competitors and advanced collectors of modern variants, low-population books like this are increasingly difficult to locate. While additional copies may be certified in the future, this remains an exceptionally scarce example in one of the hobby's most desirable modern grades.
Why This Copy Matters
This copy combines several attributes sought after by sophisticated collectors:
- Artist Proof (AP2) edition
- One of only six CGC Signature Series 9.9 copies on the CGC Census
- CGC Signature Series authentication
- Mint 9.9 grade
- Dual authenticated creator signatures
- White Pages
- Stunning Eric Basaldua cover art
While CGC 9.8 examples occasionally surface, CGC 9.9 Signature Series Artist Proofs are encountered only rarely, making this a standout acquisition for registry collectors, Eric Basaldua completists, and collectors of premium modern variant comics.
This is more than simply a high-grade comic—it is a scarce, authenticated collectible combining rarity, exceptional condition, and documented provenance.
