SOLID BRASS NAUTICAL PLAQUE SET – CAPTAIN’S QUARTERS, GALLEY & HEADOffered for sale is a wonderful matching set of three solid-brass nautical plaques, previously displayed in my personal boathouse.The set consists of:CAPTAIN’S QUARTERS – approximately 12 inches long. This is the largest and most elaborate plaque in the set, featuring bold raised lettering, decorative cast detailing, an ornate maritime-style border and mounting openings at each end.GALLEY – approximately 6 inches long, with large raised lettering and mounting holes at either end.HEAD – approximately 6 inches long, with large raised lettering and mounting holes at either end.These are substantial solid-brass plaques, rather than lightweight stamped-metal or plastic nautical signs. The thickness and cast construction give them a very nice quality and substantial feel.The large Captain’s Quarters plaque is especially attractive and has considerably more elaborate decorative detailing than the two smaller plaques.All three plaques were actually displayed in my boathouse and have remained together as a set.They have developed an attractive, naturally aged brass appearance from previous display. There are surface marks, scratches, oxidation, discoloration and other signs of use consistent with their age and history.The plaques have intentionally been left unpolished.I personally prefer the aged nautical appearance, but the new owner could certainly polish them if a brighter brass finish is desired.This would make a terrific decorative set for a boat, yacht, boathouse, marina, lake house, beach house, nautical-themed bar, pub, restaurant, man cave or maritime collection.The combination of CAPTAIN’S QUARTERS / GALLEY / HEAD makes the three particularly appealing displayed together.Please examine all photographs carefully, as they form an important part of the description and show the actual condition, patina and construction of the plaques.You will receive the exact three solid-brass nautical plaques pictured.
