This antique souvenir plate measures 7 1/2\" and features an illustration identified as BLACKTAIL CROSSING, NW RR, BELLE FOURCHE, S.D. I found a photograph of this location on the South Dakota State Historical Society\'s website that I\'ve uploaded for reference only. They\'ve identified the location as an aerial view of the mine and Chicago & Northwestern Railroad Company Station at Black Tail, SD, looking towards Deadwood. According to the marking on the back, this item was made by Wheelock in Germany for \"The Fair\" in Belle Fourche, SD.
Condition is excellent with no chips, cracks, or crazing. There is some wear to areas of the gold detailing and a scratch across the illustrated design.
