This gorgeous specimen of ultra-rare Black Druze is from The Herkimer Diamond Mines KOA Resort in Middleville, New York!
This is a piece of dolostone matrix overgrown with Black Druze quartz with dozens of larger "percher" Herkimer Diamonds perched on top. The crystals are somewhat elongated and radiate in every direction and feature deep black hydrocarbon phantoms and rainbows and have perfectly sharp edges and terminations. There are a few damaged points, but this specimen is in excellent condition. A beautiful example of some of the most sought after Herkimer material!
