For sale is a wonderful 19th century Victorian aesthetic movement EastLake style picture frame with faux bois moldings.
The frame with incised eastlake pattern work on the faux bois lacquered moldings in grays and black tones showing undulating forms throughout. Then to an ornate gilt scrolled stencil etched fluted pattern sight edge.
Condition:: As is common with these frames, there are a couple areas of what looks to be touchup in Ebony paint.
The gesso moldings on these are delicate so they chip
Easily overtime 140 years. This frame has a couple areas of gesso chip loss and touchup, and we have detailed that in our pictures. None of it really affects the overall wonderful aesthetic of this frame. Please see all detailed pictures for consideration.
