An exceptional and highly refined Wedgwood DORIC jug, showcasing the firm’s mastery of Neoclassical design. This elegant 9-inch example is adorned with a boldly modeled satyr mask with large curling horns, drawn directly from classical Bacchic imagery and perfectly suited to the Doric architectural form. The white stoneware body is beautifully potted with crisp turning to the neck, retaining a luminous, even glaze throughout.

The jug is complete with its original hinged pewter lid, a feature often lost, here preserved with a tight, correct fit and smooth operation. Impressed WEDGWOOD and DORIC marks to the base confirm the named factory form and authentic production.
Presented in excellent condition, with no chips, cracks, hairlines, or restoration, this is a particularly desirable table-scale size, more refined and less commonly encountered than larger utilitarian versions. Sculptural, architectural, and timeless, it is a superb example of early–mid 19th century Wedgwood craftsmanship and an increasingly scarce survivor in such pristine, complete condition.
A standout piece for the Wedgwood collector, neoclassical interior, or serious English ceramics collection.
