Description

ANTIQUE NEEDLE BOOK

Wonderful antique fold-open needle holder measuring 5-1/4\" tall and 3-1/3\" wide. Featuring a lush, blood red crushed velvet booklet with original silk ribbon closure, it has decorative pom-pom and tassel dangles on the fold over edge. Front bears a beautiful thick hand-worked wool flower and leaves - reminds me of stumpwork - interior is lined in a very sturdy gray fabric - looks like silk or something similar - booklet is empty and I did not pull the silk bow to open as it is very fragile. I\'ve been collecting sewing items for years, and have never found one of the booklet style holders in such nice condition.

Other than the fragile nature of the silk ribbon, I find no separation, holes, pulls, or damage. Just a wonderful antique needle book - so charming and Victorian in design - lovely addition to any sewing collection or display!
