Last one I have for saleThis Tulwar sword has an incredible provenance as both a genuine 17th to early 19th century historical artifact and as a weapon that was actually used in the Pirates of the Caribbean movies. Most importantly, it also comes with a COA from Heritage sales. The sword itself is constructed of a hand-forged curved steel cutlass blade with a later 19th century hilt with steel guard, grip, and pommel components. This Tulwar sword was assigned to, and used by, background characters for large battle and fighting sequences, as well as set dressing throughout the franchise. It exhibits expected signs of age and wear including pitting, nicks, scratches, dings, chips, remnants of oil use, and oxidation from years of service and use. Again it also comes with a COA from Heritage sales. From the Tortuga Trading Pirates Collection.Heritage sales is the largest collectibles saleeer in the world and provides the COA confirming this provenance. The consignor who sold this sword through Heritage sales originally is none other than Sean Rich of Tortuga Trading. The producers of the Pirates of the Caribbean movies wanted the sets to feel authentic, and so they asked him to source real antique weapons to be used in the actual films. Sean Rich is well known for his role on Pawn Stars and as an on-camera expert and armory specialist for National Geographic’s Lord of Wars and History Channel’s Gettysburg. He is also one of the producers of the history series titled “History Round Table.”This, then, is a fantastic opportunity to not only acquire an antique sword from the 17th-19th century but to also acquire an authentic prop from an awesome movie franchise with the provenance to back it up. If you love antique weapons, pirates and pieces of eight, or shipwreck coins and treasure, this may be the perfect item for you.
