Up for sale is a magnificent Antique French Sarreguemines Majolica Pansy Covered Tureen. This highly collectible piece features a vibrant, high-relief barbotine lid bursting with yellow, purple, and lavender pansy blossoms nestled among rich green leaves, resting over a honey-yellow basketweave base.This piece is completely authentic, boasting clear collector stamps on the underside of the base, including the impressed "SARREGUEMINES" and "FRANCE" hallmarks, along with the specific pattern model number "330" and an artisan hand-incised "Ve" decorator's mark. Additionally, the interior underside of the lid features the authentic impressed mold sequence "14462", verifying a perfect factory match between the base and lid.
The exterior glaze remains incredibly vibrant with beautiful, bright coloration and a glossy finish. The interior shows light, age-appropriate usage wear and minor staining on the bottom glaze of the bowl, which is typical for 100-year-old faience pottery. Both the inner rims of the lid and the base are exceptionally clean with no major chips, structural cracks, or restorations visible.
