ANTIQUE REAL PHOTO POSTCARD (RPPC) LOT OF 4
Early Automobile • Edwardian-Era People • Picnic • Outdoor Social History • AZO
Outstanding group of four genuine vintage Real Photo Postcards (RPPCs) featuring wonderful early 20th-century American vernacular photography.
This is an especially appealing group because the cards show actual people, clothing, homes, outdoor life and an impressive early open touring automobile rather than commercially printed tourist scenes.
THE FOUR CARDS
- EARLY OPEN TOURING AUTOMOBILE: Excellent period image showing a large early automobile parked along a residential street with several occupants visible inside. Wonderful automotive, transportation and social-history image with period homes visible in the background.
- FOUR PEOPLE IN RESIDENTIAL YARD: Two formally dressed men in suits and bowler-style hats seated on the lawn with two women wearing wonderful period clothing and elaborate hats. Houses, gardens and yard details are clearly visible behind them.
- OUTDOOR PICNIC SCENE: Four adults gathered outdoors with food, containers and picnic items spread before them. A terrific candid social-history image showing period dress and leisure activity.
- THREE WOMEN UNDER LARGE TREE: Atmospheric outdoor photograph of three women posed beneath a mature tree with rustic structures/fencing visible in the background.
GENUINE REAL PHOTO POSTCARDS
These are photographic postcards rather than ordinary mass-produced illustrated postcards. The backs show period postcard layouts, including an AZO photographic-paper stamp box on at least one example.
AZO photographic postcard stock is strongly associated with the classic early Real Photo Postcard era and its stamp-box markings are commonly used by postcard collectors when dating RPPCs.

Original vintage condition. The postcards show normal signs of age and storage including light toning, minor surface wear and typical edge/corner wear. Image quality, contrast and exposure vary from card to card, as expected with original amateur/period photography.
The backs are remarkably clean and largely unused with no postal cancellations or lengthy handwritten messages.
Please examine all photographs carefully. They are an important part of the description and show the exact four original postcards you will receive.
A GREAT EARLY PHOTOGRAPHIC GROUP
A particularly interesting group for collectors of RPPCs, antique photographs, early automobiles, transportation history, Edwardian-era fashion, women's hats, vernacular photography, social history and early 20th-century Americana.
The early touring automobile card is an especially eye-catching example and would display beautifully on its own.
