Original 19th-century playbill for the Princess’s Theatre under the management of Charles Kean, announcing his production of “The Tragedy of King Richard III” (Colley Cibber’s adaptation of Shakespeare). Includes an extensive printed note from Kean explaining his choice of the Cibber text over the original, with references to Garrick, Kemble, and his father Edmund Kean, plus a list of historical costume authorities consulted, signed in print “Charles Kean.” Date not printed; era estimated to Kean’s Princess’s Theatre management (1850s),
