Antique Victorian / Edwardian Gentleman’s Shaving Stand with Mirror, Brush, Milk Glass Bowl & ContainersWonderful antique gentleman’s tabletop shaving/toilette stand dating approximately to the late 19th or early 20th century.This ornate shaving station features a highly decorative silver-colored metal base with raised floral and scrollwork decoration, an adjustable round tilting mirror, shaving brush with ornate metal handle, milk-glass shaving/soap bowl, glass bottle with metal stopper/dispenser, and a cylindrical container with fitted metal lid.The mirror pivots in its frame and the height is adjustable on the upright post. The elaborate base has beautiful period floral detailing and an engraved monogram on the front.A particularly attractive surviving example of the type of personal grooming set that would have sat on a gentleman’s dresser or washstand during the Victorian/Edwardian era.Condition: Antique, unrestored condition with considerable age-related patina, tarnish, surface wear and oxidation to the metal components. Mirror shows age and deterioration/desilvering to the reflective surface. The milk-glass bowl has visible hairline cracking. Shaving brush shows age and wear to the natural bristles. Glass bottle appears intact from visual inspection.
