An exceptional and highly elegant antique Georgian-period cut glass taper decanter, dating to circa 1790-1810. This full-sized quart decanter captured the classic refinement of late 18th-century English or Anglo-Irish craftsmanship.
The decanter features a slender, hand-cut nect accented by vertical fluting and panels that carry down into a taperedbody. The midpoint is beautifully highlighted by an intricate, wheel-cut geometric jpattern, balanced by a neatly fluted lower section.
It comes complete with its authentic, period-correct lozenge (or bullseye") glass stopper, which fits securely into the ground inner collar.
The underside of the base shows a classic, deeply recessed ground-out and polished pontil mark-the definitive hallmark of early hand-blown glass luxury.
