This Antique Folk Art Carved Wood Gove Box features a rectangular shape with intricate mirrored birds and trees in relief, reflecting an Alpine or Nordic style of symmetry. Handmade in the 19th century, using the "tongue-in-groove" construction technique instead of nails (the hinges were put in place with tiny nails), this unique piece is crafted from lindenwood or pine with a varnish or lacquer finish. Measuring 13 7/8" in length, 4 3/4" in width, and 2 3/8" in height, it is suitable for use and display on furniture and shelves in any room in the house. The design of this decorative collectible makes it a perfect addition for nature lovers or those who appreciate folk art.
