Antique FOO DOG Chinese FAMILLE ROSE PORCELAIN PLATE Painted Medallion/Gold
Size 9" diameter x 7/8" deep
Features a beautiful hand painted design in the classic OLD Chinese style of deeply jewel toned enamel colors, and gold gilt.
Fine white porcelain with a glossy finish and burnt orange looped border details
Gold gilt rim edge and gold gilt on the coins
Plate is magnificent- pattern is of a playful Foo Dog chasing a bird that is sitting in a pine branch over his head. There is also an insect flying over his head, possibly a colorful moth. On the rim edge are 4 tableaus of fruit and leaves, framed in green. There are also 4 sets of double coins with auspicious symbols, coins have gold gilding and variety in the symbols- these are meant for luck, health, etc.
A very unusual design
Very good condition, would list as excellent but for one chip off of the BACK edge of the plate which is not visible from the front other than as a small nick in the edge of the rim. Extremely difficult to notice unless searching, very minor. See last photo and use zoom. No other nicks chips cracks scratches or repair, no fading.
Hand painted Chinese signature on the back. This piece was made for export, and is from the 1900-1920 time period
Extremely collectible.
This is a fantastic piece, great for display. Would make a superb gift. Charming and elegant.

Please note the following, dear fellow shopping enthusiasts:
I strive to give you the best service possible. I am not a dealer or professional, just a lifelong collector and enthusiast. I only list items that I think are unique and of good quality. I represent my items as accurately and clearly as I can, and believe it is always better for you to have too much information than not enough! Please ask any questions before offerding, I will happily respond.
Remember, these are vintage items and will have reasonable signs of age and wear which only adds to their personality, appeal and "funky vintage-ness". They are not in their original boxes unless noted. I do not excessively clean items or remove age patina, as I want to leave that option for the buyer.
I will promptly ship your item within 1 business day and post great positive response for you once payment is received.
Go Green! I try to re-use clean, almost-new shipping boxes when possible.
I will gladly combine shipping on multiple items for you.
