This antique tobacco silk was issued by Egyptienne Luxury Cigarettes in the early 1910's to help sell their brands of cigarettes. The silk features the college pennant flag and name of Bowdoin College with classic colors. These silks look fantastic when framed or put in a shadow box. Perfect for any Bowdoin alumni. These silks are sometimes referred to as college silks, cigarette silks and sport silks. Small, only a couple of inches long. Light wear due to age and use. One small rip in the lower left corner. Crease can be fixed by light ironing. Excellent piece of Americana.
