Up for sale is an incredibly striking Antique Austrian Art Nouveau (Jugendstil) Letter Opener, dating back to the early 1900s.
This highly collectible desk accessory features a wonderfully detailed figural handle depicting a realistic Wild Boar (Wild Pig) standing atop a textured woodland or brush base. The handle design is beautifully finished on both sides. The flat stem is sharply and clearly stamped near the collar with its original country-of-origin mark: "AUSTRIA".
• Original As-Is State: This piece is left completely uncleaned and unpolished to preserve its true historic character and maximum collector value.
• Rich Aged Patina: It retains a gorgeous, genuine dark patina. The natural time-worn oxidation inside the details of the boar's coat and the textured ground adds phenomenal depth and contrast.
This piece is an excellent crossover collectible, appealing heavily to collectors of early 20th-century Viennese desk antiques, black forest / hunting style decor, or unique wildlife-themed pieces. Please review all high-resolution photos to inspect the "AUSTRIA" stamp and fine handle details.
