Vintage 48-star United States American flag measuring approximately 57” x 33.5”.Features individually sewn/appliquéd white stars on a blue canton, sewn red and white stripes, heavy canvas hoist, and metal grommets.The 48-star American flag was the official U.S. flag from 1912 through 1959, prior to the addition of Alaska and Hawaii.The canvas hoist retains a very faint original ink stamp. The 3 x 5 size marking and “Bunting” are visible, but the remaining manufacturer information is too faded to identify confidently.Approximate measurements: 57” x 33.5”Condition: Displays considerable authentic age and use. There is discoloration/toning, staining, fading, loose threads, and fraying/wear to several of the appliquéd stars and elsewhere. The canvas hoist and grommets also show age and wear. No attempt has been made to clean or restore the flag. Please review all photographs closely as they are part of the condition description.A wonderful early-to-mid 20th century piece of American history with excellent display character.
