Antique framed school certificate issued by The Diocesan School Board, Philadelphia for attendance and punctuality during the scholastic year ending June 1913. The certificate features ornate red and black decorative printing, Gothic-style lettering, handwritten recipient information, and signed president and secretary sections.
Presented in an older wooden frame with decorative inner trim and glass front. The certificate shows expected age-related toning, scattered spotting/foxing, discoloration, and other signs of more than 100 years of age. The wooden frame has scratches, small chips, finish wear, and general aging. Back retains an older board-style backing held in place with small nails.
An appealing piece of early Philadelphia educational, Catholic school, and religious history, dating to the pre–World War I era.
