Up for sale is an authentic, highly collectible vintage Atlas Powder Co. wooden high explosives crate, originally out of Wilmington, Delaware. This is a fantastic piece of American industrial and mining history, perfect for rustic decor, storage, or military/mining memorabilia collectors.
The face of the crate features incredibly sharp, bold black stenciling that reads:
• \"ATLAS POWDER CO. / WILMINGTON, DELAWARE, U.S.A.\"
• \"HIGH EXPLOSIVES — DANGEROUS\"
• \"I.C.C.-14 / 1AX\" (Interstate Commerce Commission shipping compliance markings)
Condition Details:
This crate is in beautiful vintage condition. The wood boasts a rich, deep warm honey patina with natural wear that adds to its authentic historic character. The stenciled lettering remains remarkably clear, crisp, and dark—far less faded than most examples found today. Structurally, the traditional finger-joint corners are tight, straight, and sturdy. Great as a unique display piece, a rustic planter, or a stacked storage accent in a living room, office, or workshop.
Shipping & Handling:
Will be packed securely and shipped promptly to ensure it arrives exactly as pictured. Please reach out with any questions before purchasing!
