Water Moon Guanyin is one of the thirty-three manifestations of Guanyin (Avalokitesvara), depicted in serene meditation contemplating the moon's reflection upon the water. The "water moon" symbolizes the Buddhist insight that all phenomena are as luminous yet intangible as the moon mirrored in water — a beloved image in Chan Buddhism.
