Authentic 6-piece lot of World War II U.S. Navy Officers Mess dinnerware, made by Shenango China (circa 1939–1942). All pieces feature matching wartime "Kneeling Indian" backstamps.
The collection includes:
• Captain’s Mess (2 plates): Two 9⅝" Dinner Plates featuring the rare 4-star commissioning pennant flag logo.
• Wardroom Officer (4 plates): One 9⅝" Dinner Plate + Two 7" Salad Plates with the classic fouled anchor logo, plus one 6¾" Bread & Butter companion plate featuring the 1939 "Rimrol" structural patent stamp.
Condition:
Excellent structural condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs.
Note: The left Captain's dinner plate and the Wardroom anchor dinner plate have original blue factory ink splatters and smudges on their front faces. These are completely smooth and sealed permanently underneath the clear glaze, which is a common character mark from rushed wartime production lines. Comes from a pet free non smoking home. These have been in my family for generations.
