Up for sale is this group of 6 vintage Marvel/Impel trading cards. All of these cards from the early 90s come from the collectionof a former Design Coordinator at DC Comics. This small collection of (mostly) promo & insert cards includes:
1)1992 Comic Images Silver Surfer All-Prism Promo Card. Distributed to preview the 72-card All-Prism trading card set printed on special \"Galaxy\" prism stock.
2) 1990 Marvel Comics/Impel The Infinity War Checklist Promo Card. A checklist card previewing the massive Jim Starlin-inspired Infinity War event trading card series, mapping out release months from April-Sept.
3) 1991 Impel/SkyBox Marvel Universe Series II Advance Comics Promo Hologram.A rare magazine promotional card bound inside Advance Comics order catalogs. It features an early preview hologram intended to tease the holographic inserts found in the 1991 Marvel Universe Series II packs.Because it\'s a gold-tinted monochrome promo stock, the hologram layout appears muted until light hits it just right.
4) 1992 Impel/SkyBox Marvel Masterpieces Advance Comics Promo Hologram.Another promotional insert from Advance Comics, this one featuring Spider-Man, designed to preview the upcoming painted Marvel Masterpieces set and its brand-new hologram chase cards for 1992.
5) 1991 Impel / SkyBox X-Force Series 1 (#3 - Deadpool).Card #3 from the base set featuring the early, breakout design of Deadpool (complete with his classic 90s bio, power ratings, and first-appearance trivia on the back).
6) 1991 Impel/SkyBox X-Force \"Card-Shirt\" Mail-In Promo Card.An insert card featuring a photo of an official X-Force t-shirt adorned with miniature versions of the trading cards. Collectors could fill out the mail-in form on the back to order the shirt directly from Marvel\'s official merchandise catalog back then.
Provenance:These hard-to-find vintage trading cards are from the collection of a former Design Coordinator at DC Comics, who worked directly with Neal Pozner(former Art Director/Editor)in the 1980s-1990s.
