NORTHWEST ORIENT1985 vintage color print ad - English version
Ad photo shows a Northwest Orient Boeing 747 flying high above New York City/lower Manhattan skyline, with the World Trade Center\'s Twin Towers and the unfinished Battery Park City seen in the top left hand corner.
In terms of branding:The interesting aspect of this ad is that the 747 shown in the photo clearly wears NORTHWEST ORIENT titles, while the ad copy shows only the word NORTHWEST beneath the logo at the bottom of the page. The ad dates from the period when the airline was in the process of dropping the word ORIENT from their name to become simply NORTHWEST.
This ad was issued in major European markets to promotetravel via Northwest Orient\'s luxurious Regal Imperial Service across the Atlantic to the USA. This ad is one in a series of ads produced specifically for overseas markets in the 1984-1986 timeframe.
