1984 Maryland License Plates – Matching Pair AMT 125 – Vintage Automobile Tags
Offered for sale is a matching pair of vintage Maryland automobile license plates, both bearing registration number AMT 125.
These original-style Maryland plates feature bold, embossed black registration characters against a white reflective background, with MARYLAND prominently displayed across the top.
Both plates display 1984 registration stickers. One plate also retains a stack of earlier registration stickers, adding to its period character and providing an interesting glimpse into the plates\' history of use.
The matching registration numbers and classic Maryland design make these an appealing addition to collections of vintage license plates, Maryland memorabilia, automobilia, and automotive-themed displays.
During the early 1980s, Maryland issued embossed metal license plates with reflective backgrounds to improve visibility and identification.
Registration stickers allowed plates to remain in use across multiple registration periods without necessarily requiring replacement of the metal plates.
This matching pair reflects that system, with visible registration stickers documenting continued use over several years.
Vintage matching license plate pairs are popular with collectors because they preserve both plates associated with a single vehicle Maryland
