1983 Connecticut State Senator Thomas Scott, Signed Letter and Business Card
Original letter on State of Connecticut letterhead dated June 30, 1983 from State Senator Thomas Scott of the 14th District, together with his matching Connecticut General Assembly business card.
The content is what makes it unusual: Scott thanks the recipient for allowing their artwork to be displayed in his office at the Connecticut State Capitol, and notes that Capitol visitors commented on it. The signature 'Tom' appears to be applied in blue ink rather than printed.
Scott went on to serve in the Connecticut Senate through 1991 and became widely known for leading the state's anti-income-tax movement.
