Original Vintage 1978 Trader Vic\'s Original South Seas Restaurant Menu International Market Place Honolulu Hawaii
This Waikiki incarnation of Honolulu\'s Trader Vic\'s opened in 1967 at the International Market Place — itself opened in 1957 around a landmark banyan tree — when Spencecliff Corp. bought the franchise and moved the restaurant from its original 926 Ward Avenue home, established by Victor Bergeron on December 18, 1940. It offered a classic Trader Vic\'s tiki experience of South Seas decor, Polynesian-styled Cantonese food, and exotic rum cocktails, and was among the many Hawaii eateries run by Spencecliff, the restaurant empire of brothers Spencer and Clifton Weaver. It closed in the early 1990s; the surrounding International Market Place later declined, shut for good on December 31, 2013 and was bulldozed, and a redeveloped International Market Place opened in 2016, preserving the historic banyan tree.
The menus from this iconic restaurant are extremely rare and I was lucky to acquire several of these menus from different years.
It measures 19\" x 7.5\" closed and 19\" x 15\" open
