Original 1951 DeSoto Conquistador Hood Ornament – Amber Lucite Face
Original vintage hood ornament from a 1951 DeSoto automobile, featuring the distinctive Conquistador / Hernando de Soto design.
This is the desirable version featuring the translucent amber Lucite/plastic face surrounded by the chrome helmet, with the dramatic long streamlined chrome wings extending toward the rear.
Original vintage piece, not a modern reproduction.
Condition: Good original unrestored condition. The ornament is complete and displays very well, but shows considerable age-related wear. Chrome has widespread pitting, oxidation, spotting, scratches and surface deterioration, particularly around the helmet and wing sections. The amber face remains present and attractive with good facial detail. Underside shows oxidation, discoloration and normal mounting wear. Mounting studs/hardware are present as shown.
The long wings appear straight overall with no obvious major break visible in the photographs.
Please examine all photographs carefully as they form an important part of the condition description.
Excellent original piece for a 1951 DeSoto restoration, Mopar collection, hood ornament collection, automobilia display or garage/man-cave collection.
Sold exactly as pictured.no returnimport fee at buyers expense.
