Offered is an original April 1946 Esquire calendar page featuring a classic Varga Girl illustration by Alberto Vargas, accompanied by a verse by Phil Stack.
This elegant image depicts a glamorous brunette in a flowing pink ensemble, posed with a small book in hand. The soft pastel coloring, graceful figure and refined airbrushed technique are wonderful examples of the distinctive style that made Vargas one of the most celebrated pin-up illustrators of the 20th century.
The original April 1946 calendar and verse remain printed at lower right, along with the familiar “a Varga Esq.” signature near the bottom of the page.
