This is a 1945 Plumb hatchet that was recovered off an Estate in Minnesota.

Stamp in the hatchet Head is "Plumb 1945"

The Hatchet is 15.5", was issued in the last year of World War II to the US Soilders.

The handle does appear to have some good age, however I cannot tell you if the head was reseated to a a different handle or not!
